Call for Down in the Reeds Volunteers
WASHINGTON (August 12) The 3rd Annual Down in the Reeds Festival is happening Saturday October 8th 2022 at The Parks at Walter Reed and we are looking for volunteers to help out with promotion and day of needs.
This daylong free fall music festival set around the historic amphitheater on the campus of the former Walter Reed Army Medical Center (The Parks at Walter Reed www.theparksdc.com ) celebrates the power of music to heal across culture and community. In year three, the festival will feature two stages of live music performances, workshops, and panels, along with interactive musical activations, family art, games, curated art vendors and makers, delicious local food trucks and some amazing local breweries and beverage companies.
The ability of music to heal at the micro and macro level is one of music’s fundamental characteristics, bridging race, culture, and socio-economic status across all Wards. 2022 will feature headlining performances from Red Baraat, The Medicine Singers with Yonatan Gat and a full day of performances and workshops by DMV creatives including, Project Locrea, Smoke & Tea, and so many more.
